To invest money for a specific, predetermined period of time, a York State Bank certificate of deposit offers a highly competitive interest rate on a fixed dollar investment. Current rates are for terms ranging from 7 days to 5 years. the minimum opening deposit required for investing in a certificate of deposit is as low as $1000. Interest can be paid to the certificate of deposit, paid by check or deposited to a York State Bank checking or savings account for those who wish to have access to the earned interest. Every depositor is insured up to $100,000. for total deposits at York State Bank by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).
